Anderson County Fire Services Tax Increase


THIS COMES AFTER CHARLOTTE CITY COUNCIL REPEALED A LOCAL ORDINANCE THE REPUBLICANS BLAME FOR THE STATEWIDE LAW. A DECISION BETWEEN KEEPING THE PUBLIC SAFE OR RAISING TAXES. THE ANDERSON COUNTY FIRE COMMISSION WANTS ANDERSON COUNTY COUNCIL TO APPROVE A FOR MILLAGE RATE INCREASE. THE MONEY WOULD BUY NEW EQUIPMENT FOR VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS. WE PURCHASED 2 RIGHT IT ALMOST $1 MILLION. FEDERAL MAN FOR REPLACING EQUIPMENT MAKES IT HARDER. EVEN A SMALL THING LIKE TIRES TURNS INTO A BIG EXPENSE. SUPPORTERS SAY THEY HAVE DONE WELL STICKING TO THE BUDGET. THEY HAVE BEEN VERY FRUGAL. BUT NOW IT’S BECOMING A PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE. AND ROUTE TO THE FIRE, NEED A GOOD EQUIPMENT. RESCUING PEOPLE.
